Who coaches traveling teams?

We prefer to hire coaches who have a background in coaching volleyball or have extensive experience playing volleyball.  Passion for the game and the desire to help the community's youths are their main driving force.

What does our fee pay for?

Your fees pay for entry in the Northern Lights Fall League played at the Midwest Volleyball Warehouse located in Burnsville, gym time for practices, coaching staff, equipment, and uniforms. You are responsible for providing your child shoes, knee pads, warm-ups, and gym bags.

Are there tryouts for teams AND Can every girl make a team?

There are tryouts, and some girls may not make any team. We would like to include as many girls as possible, but sometimes the numbers do not work out this way. A roster of ten girls per team is considered ideal. The number of teams and how many girls are on a team depend entirely on how many girls try out. The fall league is divided into two age divisions: Middle School (7th & 8th grades) & Youth (6th graders & younger).  Playing up is at the discretion of the Volleyball Commissioner.

Can PLAYERS PLAY BOTH VAA TRAVELING AND MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL?

YES! We encourage all players to touch the ball as often as they can.  The more time spent on the court will only help them improve their skills. The two schedules will not overlap but make sure all coaches are aware of the participation in both.

Are there state or national tournaments for Fall traveling volleyball?

There is no state tournament for VAA fall traveling volleyball. All matches are played at the Midwest Volleyball Warehouse located in Burnsville.
